Marblehead METCO is awarded an annual grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to pay for program expenses. This monetary award is voted on annually by the legislature and has been facing reductions as the Commonwealth strives to balance their budget. Each year is a political fight to keep the METCO line item at level funding. There are many items that METCO faces throughout the year which are not covered by the Grant. We rely on donations from the very generous Marblehead community to make ends meet. In the past we have received donations from The Community of Friends, The Female Humane Society as well as the National Grand Bank and the Rotary, to name a few. We are confident that these very generous groups will continue their support, however, our costs and the pressure on our budget continues to mount each year.

Any contribution you feel you may be able to make, be it large or small, would be greatly appreciated. Our cause is a beneficial one both to the participating METCO students and to the Marblehead Community to which they bring diversity and an overture to a broader cultural experience.
